Technology is always changing, and staying up to date with the latest advancements can have a considerable impact on your competitive advantage. Microsoft has transformed its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) offering with the introduction of Dynamics 365 Business Central, the modern version of Dynamics NAV.
Dynamics NAV support life cycle
If you are currently running Dynamics NAV 2013 or earlier, your software is no longer supported by Microsoft. This means that if you have any bug fixes, change requests or functionality requirements these will need to be carried out by us, as your partner. We have extensive experience supporting all versions of Dynamics NAV.
If you are currently running Dynamics NAV 2015 or later, you are still supported by Microsoft. However, Microsoft has released end dates for their support of all versions of Dynamics NAV. This is due to Dynamics Business Central replacing Dynamics NAV. The latest version, NAV 2018, will be supported by Microsoft until 2023.

If you are using Dynamics NAV there are various options for upgrading to Dynamics 365 Business Central. Our team will assess your current Dynamics NAV system to understand your existing modifications and from these, the ones that need to be replicated in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Installation of Dynamics 365 Business Central
There are a number of options available to you for installing and hosting Dynamics 365 Business Central. The first choice to make is whether you choose to host the software in the cloud or on your own server on-premise. If you are unsure which option is best for your business, we can advise you on the advantages of each.
Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud is hosted on servers operated by an external company, such as Microsoft’s Azure platform. With cloud hosting, as long as you are connected to the internet, you can log in to your system from any device, from anywhere and at any time.
Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premise is hosted on your own physical servers and IT infrastructure and requires maintenance either in-house or by an IT partner. Hosting on-premise gives you more control, however, a high level of IT expertise is needed to support the system and keep it secure.
A hybrid installation is a combination of on-premise and cloud hosting. This gives you access to cloud intelligence, analytics and applications such as Power BI and PowerApps with the security of on-premise hosting. Your software and data will be hosted on your own physical servers, so the same level of IT infrastructure and expertise as on-premise hosting is required.
Software as a Service (SaaS)
Dynamics 365 Business Central is hosted entirely in the cloud, however, with Software as a Service you pay for licenses, hosting and any other costs in one single price, opposed to buying your licenses and hosting separately with standard cloud hosting. Hosting with Software as a Service gives you less control over the system, compared to on-premise.
